ASSIGNMENTS

Below is a list of assignments that the students of American Cultures I have had and are looking forward to during the current quarter. Students who were absent on the day of the assignment can find the needed materials provided on blackboard (bottom of the page).

French and Indian War Quiz - This was a 28 point quiz that covered the French and Indian War unit. The students compelted the story quiz by filling in the blanks.

U.S. Geography Quiz - The students were quizzed on 42 of the 50 states.

Presidential Candidate Paper - The students selected the candidate that they favored in 2008 Presidential Election. They identified three reasons that they supported that candidate and wrote an informational paper. This paper counted as both American Cultures I and English grades.

Presidential Advertisement - Using the same candidate that they completed the informational paper on, they made an advertisement. It could have a positive or negative spin as long as it was school apprpriate. The students were given tje freedom use many sources of media (posters, videos, PowerPoints etc.).

Last of the Mohicans - The students were to analyze the film the Last of the Mohicans. They were to write several sentences pertaining to the colonial - British relationship, the terrain, guerrilla warfare, and tradional European warfare.

U.S. Geography Quiz - The students were quizzed on 50 of the 50 states (December 5th)
